OBJECT AS SUBJECT is the latest endeavor of maker/performer, Paris Hurley.

Primarily a band, OBJECT AS SUBJECT, works to invent new intersections between music, dance, performance, and installation. Built on an ongoing investigation of cultural mythologies, personas, ritual, oppression, and our individual, cultural, & collective performances of identity, the project brings these explorations to life in a visceral landscape of dark drones, gritty bass riffs, wailing vocals, and stage antics of overtly feminist proportions.

MORE ABOUT SPITEHOUSE:
Spite House Concerts started in 2013 as a venue for new music. Much beloved by Seattle’s improvisation communities, the series continues in 2015. Each concert begins with a presentation by the Spite House House Band, followed by a concert presentation. Concert artists are selected by a rotating group of curators, local musicians devoted to finding Seattle’s most interesting and unique new music. The third set is open to improvisers. Audience members are welcome to bring voices and other instruments. After the concert proper (approx 10:30pm) we form up impromptu duos and small ensembles to create a set of improvised magic in the third set.
